Town of North Hempstead Hosts Annual Polar Plunge to Benefit Special Olympics
Manhasset, NY– Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board invite you to join us March 2 for the annual Polar Plunge at North Hempstead Beach Park.
“Besides being a great event to socialize with family, friends and neighbors and engage in friendly and fun rivalry, the Annual Polar Plunge gives everyone the opportunity to raise funds for a worthy cause,” Supervisor Jon Kaiman said. “I look forward to seeing you there.”
Kicking off with the 9:00 a.m. registration, the plunge takes place at noon.
The event, which benefits the Special Olympics Foundation, features entertainment from WBAB radio, a Nassau County Police Department display, free snacks and hot beverages, and children’s activities including professional face painting.
In addition to Supervisor Kaiman and members of his family, plungers will also include State Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel and North Hempstead Town Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio.
Individuals or teams of plungers can earn fabulous prizes for raising the most money.
The event will also include a Special Olympics exhibition featuring Special Olympics athletes. Attendees are invited to participate.
