Town Honors Essential and Frontline Workers for North Hempstead Strong: Reflections and Messages of Hope during COVID-19

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board are proud to announce that the Town will be hosting a series of programs which celebrate frontline and essential workers. The programs will be part of the Town’s North Hempstead Strong: Reflections and Messages of Hope during COVID-19.

“This March, to acknowledge and thank those who have kept all of us going, the Town will be putting together the North Hempstead Strong initiative. We will have interviews with our frontline and essential workers and thank you messages from local students. We hope our residents will take this opportunity to celebrate all of those who have worked tirelessly to keep our communities safe,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth.

The Town will be broadcasting interviews with frontline and essential workers including: Dr. Suchismita Datta, NYU Langone Long Island; Ms. Lorraine Massillon, Teacher at Drexel Avenue School in Westbury; Michelle Rott, Customer Service Manager at Shop Rite in New Hyde Park and Member of Local 338; Police Officer Robert Salerno, Nassau County Police Department and Emilio Omar Santiago, Porter and Maintenance Worker and 32BJ SEIU member.

The North Hempstead Strong interviews will premiere each Monday, beginning on March 22, 2021 at 4 p.m.

The pieces will be aired on the Town’s YouTube and social media pages as well as North Hempstead TV, the Town’s award winning government access television station. NHTV airs on channel 18 or 63 on Cablevision and channel 46 on Verizon FIOS and on demand at: www.mynhtv.com.
