Town Hosts Group Fitness and Exercise Classes at “Yes We Can” Community Center

North Hempstead, NY – Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Council Member Viviana Russell, and the Town Board have announced a wide array of group fitness and exercise classes at the “Yes We Can” Community Center in Westbury for the summer.

“We hope Town residents enjoy our new fitness classes this summer,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “There are expanded offerings geared toward children, teens, and adults with fun activities for all experience levels.”

“We are thrilled that restrictions are continuing to loosen and life is returning to what we know as normal,” said Council Member Russell “The 'Yes We Can' Community Center staff continues to roll out new and rejuvenated programming that will be exciting for the community.”

Upcoming classes include:
Kids Zumba (ages 5-13) – Thursdays through August 19, 2021 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Teen Zumba (ages 13-18) – Fridays through August 13, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Adult Zumba (ages 18+) – Tuesdays and Thursdays through August 19, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Adult Yoga (ages 18+) – Mondays and Wednesdays through August 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Adult Kickboxing (ages 18+) – Sundays beginning June 20 through August 22 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Adult Total Body Conditioning (ages 18+) – Sundays beginning June 20 through August 22 from 9 a.m. to 10 am.

An active “Yes We Can” Community Center membership is required for enrollment in the classes. Classes are free. Registration is not required. Participants will be admitted on a first come first serve basis with a capacity of 22 participants per class. The fitness programs will follow all New York State COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. Masks will be required.
