Historic Landmarks Preservation Commission
If you live within a North Hempstead Historic District OR are a property listed on the North Hempstead List of Designated Landmarks, you must receive a Certificate of Appropriateness to make exterior changes to your house, property or structures on your property, pursuant to Chapter 27 of the Town Code. A Certificate of Appropriateness is given by the Historic Landmark Preservation Commission after a public hearing. Check below for list of Hearing Dates. The Town uses the www.mytonh.com online portal for application submissions. The online portal also has information on application submission requirements and application forms. The online portal will required a one-time registration.
