Receiver of Taxes Mary Jo Collins

Biography

Mary Jo Collins was elected Receiver of Taxes in November 2023. She graduated from Douglass College, Rutgers University and Teachers College, Columbia University. A resident of the Town of North Hempstead for almost 30 years, Mary Jo resides in Flower Hill where she serves as a Village Trustee. Prior to this, she lived in Manhasset. She has been married for 32 years to Sean Collins, a fundraising consultant. Mary Jo and Sean have two sons, Sean Jr., a CPA and Senior Manager in the Advisory Practice at PWC, and Matthew, a Lieutenant in the US Navy and a helicopter pilot stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. In December 2022, Mary Jo retired from a 40-year career in Finance, spent mainly in the fixed income securities markets. She currently serves as an Independent Trustee for a financial services firm.
